Hi, I’m Ashley Koski – a photographer, designer, and creative storyteller based in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Here is a brief outline of my journey and what I'm about.

I first fell in love with photography while pursuing my bachelor’s degree in Design Arts at the University of Wisconsin – Green Bay. During my time there, I learned the principles and elements of art, the power of visual metaphors, how to communicate emotion through a photo, and how to “see” a photograph for everything it represents.
Most of my work experience has been working in the field of video production, as a Graphic Designer/Animator. My career has mainly consisted of creating a wide spectrum of videos for everything from car dealership commercials to informative healthcare videos. Through this experience, I’ve learned a lot about advertising, branding, and how to effectively and efficiently help a client’s vision come to life.

I've been side-hustling in portrait photography for a while – focusing on mainly families, engagement, maternity, and senior portraits. I love capturing emotional connection between people, whether it be the way a family laughs together, the playful smirk between a couple, or the curious expression of a child. It’s about freezing those candid, authentic moments in time.

In 2023, I chose to refresh and expand my skill set by returning to school at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College, earning my Photography Specialist Technical Diploma. During my time at NWTC, I learned a lot about studio lighting, numerous tools and techniques to experiment with, and put simply, I started playing with food.
My husband and I appreciate the culinary arts, and I guess would be considered “foodies”, so naturally I was drawn to photograph it. I love the way textures and colors create a sensory experience that makes food photography so engaging. If done right, a photograph can make the viewer feel like they can almost taste it.

One of the main reasons I decided to venture further down the photography career path is my daughter. I want to show her through example that she can build a livelihood doing something that ignites a fire in her belly. Her and my husband are always willing to help me with my projects, whether I want to brainstorm ideas with them, or if I need a hand model, or someone to pour the sprinkles for a cupcake shoot. The three of us are always seeking adventures – kayaking down a river, exploring new cities, collecting unique rocks on a beach, attempting to paint along with Bob Ross, or even just trying our hand at a new recipe, shooting a game of pool, or playing Catan – all of these things usually with some form of ‘90s alternative playing in the background. We strive to live a colorful life filled with creativity, curiosity, and compassion, because that’s what it’s all about for us.
